1. Certifications you can verify
FSC® chain of custody is the practical entry ticket for EU/US retailers. ISO 9001/14001/45001, Green Printing and C9 color management signal a mature quality system. Always ask for certificate numbers and verify them.
2. Color management, not just printing
A reprint must match the first run. Factories running C9 or G7 color standards measure every batch — ask how they guarantee color consistency across orders.
3. Samples before production
A physical sample catches structure and material issues that PDFs hide. Free samples with freight collect are standard practice.
4. MOQ and lead time honesty
MOQ 500 with 15-day delivery is achievable at a well-equipped factory. Be wary of promises far below market norms — they usually hide quality shortcuts.
5. Compliance before shipment
REACH reports for inks and adhesives, GPSR responsible person, EUDR due diligence and German packaging registration should all be in place before your goods leave the factory.
